Fletcher Lab Research Featured in Stanford Woods Institute Article

We’re pleased to share that the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment has highlighted our work in a new article: “Beyond Drought: A New Approach to Water Security in a Changing Climate”.

The piece features research from the Fletcher Lab, led by PhD Candidate Keani Willebrand, that challenges traditional drought management frameworks. Our team is developing integrated modeling tools and policy insights that account for long-term climate variability, with the goal of improving water reliability across both urban and agricultural sectors. This approach moves beyond reactive crisis management, emphasizing proactive strategies to adapt drought management policies and indicators to an increasingly uncertain hydrologic future.
